Today, during the SMASHCAST meeting, there was also a meeting taking place with all the new SMASH scholars. Their meeting was mainly informational--regarding the rules for the summer, and other topics--but the SMASHCAST team was also able to a get a hold of a few of them and ask them a few more questions. The main goal was to deviate from the "cookie cutter"-type answers that tend to arise during formal interviews, and see how the new students felt about the SMASH community.
I hope you enjoy!

The podcast was great! I really got a sense for the community building that the program is doing. The questions you asked the "rookies" were difficult questions, but in a way I think you were testing them. Is this a correct assertion? As veteran students, when do you feel that you fully accept a new member into your community? Thanks!
